Ambassador Chicago is a boutique hotel with a history. Built in 1926, this hotel was inspired by the jazz area and was host to the city's most elite guests. Offering the best of both worlds, Ambassador Chicago is situated in the quite, affluent section of Chicago while still close enough for guests to be able to explore the city. With a coffeehouse-style cafe and restaurant/bar on the premises, however, guests are able to come back to the hotel to relax and unwind after a day of activities.

Ambassador Chicago has 258 guestrooms with both room and suite options. Spacious rooms feature flat screen televisions, complimentary Wi-Fi, a work area, and bathrooms with bathtubs. Suites are outfitted with a variety of different amenities to suit the needs of any guest. The most luxurious suite is the penthouse suite. Large enough to entertain and decked out in glamorous decor, this suite is an elegant home away from home. Hotel-wide amenities include a fitness center, business center, and valet parking for a fee. no internet - never worked no furniture except desk and office chair no useful surface except desk rip in mattress cover very low bed - mattress on boards heard elevator all day no concierge - no helpful suggestions about the neighborhood ——————- first time ever using third party (Kayak) - maybe this type of room is what they deal in

Pros (+) Clean, fashionable, good location for me, provided coffee maker for room when I asked, but what is with 3 of the 5 pods being decaf?
Cons (-) Lack of conveniently placed AC plugs to plug in while sitting on the bed. In checking out, when I asked for a restroom, I was directed down one floor! Cons (-) Horrible service, horrible housekeeping - where old cutlery and dishes are left lying around and you need to call in to get fresh glasses. Cons (-) No phone charges available Heater making noise throughout the night, had to choose between being cold or awaken by noise Heat was off when I arrived, "engineer" had to come up to turn it on (shouldn't it be obvious where and how to control the temperature?) Heater was on the ground behind a desk, I had to get under the desk to adjust the temp each time

Pros (+) The location is epic; the Gold Coast of Chicago is high end district, places to shop are so close you can walk everywhere. Wonderful restaurants! I would stay here again, and again. The staff were like friends we had missed seeing in ages and always ready to help, in every way from the check in to the cleaning service helping us carry our bags into our room.
Cons (-) Our room was a lower rate and as such we were placed near the elevators. We had booked WAY in advance but was told upon check in it was a busy weekend, but we could check in at 12:30 ish... The room we had was small but I am not sure all of them are...?
